Museum Accession No.: WA.MC.1084 Catalogue No.: 330 Object type: Plate Kiln/Location: Imari Period/Date: early 18th century Dimensions: D. 14.0 cm Provenance: Marshall Collection. 1084 Department of Western Art, WA.MC.1084 Description: Small plate. Underglaze blue, and red, green, pink and black enamels with gold. Gently curving sides, low footrim. Central design with pine, plum and bamboo, growing around a fence with clouds. Underglaze blue, branches and leaves outlined in gold, the blossoms and fence in red and gold. Broad blue band with gold scrolling around rim. The reverse, three red, blue and gold plum branches, three blue lines around the footrim, two enclosing a red wave scroll.On base, blue and gold artemesia leaf within a blue circle.
