- Description: Face of a watch-stand. Modelled in relief with figures of Father Time reclining and a cherub amongst flowers and foliage, cockerel, hunting bird, wheat sheaf, shell and waves. Underglaze blue and red, flesh colour, green, white and black enamels with gold. Traces of bamboo and lacquer on the unglazed reverse-formerly attached to piece of rattan furniture.
The origin for this apparently unique piece is either an engraving for a watch-stand, an example of which is illustrated in Goodison, 1975, p. 12 and fig. 7, or an actual brass watch-stand (Ashmolean Museum).
