  • Description: Teapot. Main body divided into eight pinched lobes. Flattish lid everted at edge. Straight, almost vertical spout, side handle of rounded cross-section. Underglaze blue and Kakiemon palette, no yellow, with gold. Lobes outlined in underglaze blue, leaving ridge between plain. Three lobes contain a different flowering plant repeated on the opposite side. Above lobes, a floral border, floral scrolls on handle and spout. On lid, (contemporary but not en suite) two double underglaze blue lines enclose wide border of scrolling flowers. Narrow border of red curlicue around the plain knob. Contemporary European silver gilt mounts.
